150 clubs have raised N50,000M to purchase Zulum form, so far no one is interested in running for governor of Borno APC
A total of 150 social clubs, organizations and professionals in Borno State are mobilizing to raise the N50 million needed to purchase the nomination form for Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum.
The clubs and associations are demanding that Zulum run again in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the founding members of the coalition announced their plans at a press conference held at the NUJ Borno Secretariat in Maiduguri on Friday.
Spokesman Umar Shettima said the group wanted Mr. Zulum to remain in power given the work he had done on all fronts during his first term.
Mr. Shettima is the chairman of the state branch of the National Union of Nurses and Midwives.
“The coalition was brought together by registered clubs and associations alongside professional bodies in academia, healthcare, commerce, transportation, and women groups, among others.
“Given his incredible achievements, we can assure you that Professor Babagana Umara Zulum will remain in power for the benefit of the people, after witnessing unprecedented achievements in all areas of human endeavor over the past three years.
“We call on him to run for a second term to continue his good deeds for the community of Borno State.
“The clubs have decided to purchase a nomination form for the 2023 gubernatorial election for Governor Zulum,” Mr. Shettima said.
Sharma urged the people of Borno to show their support by launching a special fund, as campaign funds are needed.
