Federal Government distributes N1.3 billion to 100,000 households in Katsina Officially

The Federal Government has distributed N1.3 million to 100,043 poor people in Katsina State under its terms.

CCT is an integral part of Federal Government National Social Investment Program (NSIP) designed to support poor families, alleviate poverty and promote wealth creation in the community.

Abdulkadir Mamman-Nasir, Special Assistant to Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina, made the remarks at a rally organized by NSIP beneficiaries on Sunday in Katsina.

Mamman-Nasir, who is also the NSIP chief executive officer in the state, said each of the beneficiaries has received N10,000 under the scheme in the last two months.

He said the government had also spent over N1.1 billion to facilitate the provision of food to more than 800,000 students in 2,777 schools in the state under the school feeding program.

He said 58,000 young men and women were enrolled under the government’s industrial empowerment program, adding that more than 70 percent of the beneficiaries were women.

According to him, 14,400 people are participating in the N-POWER program in the state, stressing that the necessary steps must be taken to ensure the sustainability of the program.
