Governor Umara Zulum in South Borno has launched 23 projects to strengthen security

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has visited the southern part of Borno State to inaugurate 23 major projects under his administration, most of which include schools and health centers in towns and villages.

Umara Zulum, according to state media, arrived at Biryel, the headquarters of Bayo Local Government Area on Tuesday evening, where he immediately passed for the main projects.

The governor’s spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau, said Zulum would launch 23 of the other projects undertaken by the government in southern Borno.

Gusau said 23 projects include 13 newly built and renovated secondary and primary schools; Six primary health centers and three local government buildings including two police stations, a government building, and a shopping complex.

The statement said 23 projects have been built in villages and towns in Hawul, Shani, Bayo, and Kwaya Kusar Local Government Areas of southern Borno.

Isa Gusau said some of the important school projects that Zulum will launch include a new 30-room public school, a 20-room public secondary school, a 20-room community secondary school, a primary school with a classroom of 20, and others.

The spokesperson reminded us that in the last two years, Umara Zulum has implemented 556 major projects which have now increased from May 29, 2021.

The Governor is expected to inspect the completed houses and allocate them to other governors and mayors.

As an important part of his trip, Governor Zulum will meet with military leaders and volunteers as part of his routine to identify emergencies and strengthen security in South Borno.
