Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) distributed 260 vehicles to all the rulers of the state as he inaugurated the state headquarters of the Ulema Council.
Zailani Bappa, Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Matawalle government, made the announcement.
According to the statement, the distribution was given by His Highness the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, at the Government House, Gusau.
The Sultan expressed his gratitude to Governor Matawalle for his concern over the welfare of the two important institutions that are still the wall of our nation.
The Sultan called on the beneficiaries of the program to continue to support the government of Governor Matawalle by doing their utmost to end the challenges facing the nation.
Governor Matawalle said this was done in recognition of the role of traditional institutions as guardians of our religion and culture and the way to unite and bring peace to our society.
“Because of the respect that my government has for our leaders and institutions, we have decided to purchase new vehicles, Model Cadillac 2019, for 17 Kings, 13 Chiefs, and 230 District heads across the state.” The governor said.
Governor Matawalle assured that his government would continue to work with traditional and religious leaders to ensure peace and stability in the state.
“I can assure you that my government will continue to work on upgrading our traditional facilities in every possible way, we are currently renovating and rebuilding some of our palaces across the state. Some of these projects will be completed soon, ”he added.
